Sister Cities International creates international friendship and understanding, person-to-person, worldwide
The Sidney Sister Cities Association, together with the Town of Sidney, pursues those goals with our three Sister Cities through regular visits and continuing educational and cultural exchanges.
Our three sister cities are:
|NIIMI, OKAYAMA PREFECTURE
The entwined circle design of the Sidney Sister Cities Association logo reflects key aspects of the four cities.
* Pink is for the amazing cherry blossoms that bloom in Niimi every Spring.
* Rich brown is for the prevalent colour of the soil in Cairns, Australia.
* Green is for Washington State’s evergreen trees.
* The blue centre is for Sidney-by-the-Sea
The circles are linked in friendship.

UPCOMING MONTHLY MEETINGS
21st SEPTEMBER, 2017. 7.00 p.m. Regular monthly meetings commence at the Nell Horth Room, Sidney North Saanich Public Library.
DAN MERCER, a Rotary Club member will tell us about the work of Mercy Ships Canada in Benin, Africa.
In January, 2017, Dan was a guest of Mercy Ships Canada to visit and observe in action the Mercy Ship Charity Hospital currently anchored and providing services in Benin, Africa.
As some of the local Rotary Clubs support this project, Dan, as current assistant governor for the district, was given this amazing opportunity, so that he could share his experiences with the Rotary clubs back home, as well as with other interested groups.
Dan has put together a slide show of his photographs taken while visiting the Mercy Ship. He was given access to a number of areas throughout the Ship, so you will be able to get a good idea of how the Mercy Ship functions.
